Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization.
It is the volunteers contributions of time and labor that ultimately make the LCAC’s vision a reality.
Be a part of helping connect the arts to the community. Contribute as a volunteer by hosting the Gallery, staffing a production at our Soper Reese Theatre and joining in our various events and projects.

Karen Weston – Soper Reese Theatre Volunteer
I moved up to Lakeport from the Monterey Peninsula with my late husband in 1982. As a means to become involved with the new community, we both served on the Arts Council Board for several years in the 80’s. During our time with the board was started the “Art in Public Places” program. My working career was in the accounting field for Blue Shield, a CPA firm and evolved into office management positions for Scully Packing, Wildhurst Vineyards, and Beckstoffer Vineyards. When I retired, as a recent widow, I decided it was time to jump back into volunteering. The Soper Reese Theatre was my first choice as I have always loved live theater and music productions, having been exposed to them as a child.
The theater is a great way to meet new people and see old friends while attending the productions. I’m usually ushering but have also helped in concessions, taking tickets and set up when we have special events. My other volunteer positions have included The Kelseyville Kids Garden Club, The Lake County Land Trust and Redbud Audubon. I am a big traveler, making trips down to Santa Barbara every few months to spend time with my elderly mother and other family members. I have been fortunate enough to have also made several international trips the past few years to Ireland, Portugal, Greece, Mexico and most recently Cambodia. I love visiting new places, learning and experiencing the cultures, past and present, trying the cuisine and meeting the people.
